In a heartwarming act of philanthropy, business and travel consultant, Okikiayo Ishola, returned to her roots, donating essential educational materials to her alma mater, Government Junior and Senior College, Agege. The donation, aimed at empowering female students, included books, school bags and other crucial learning resources.

The CEO of Gonow Travels and Tours, Ishola’s commitment to fostering educational excellence was further highlighted by her announcement of an all-expenses-paid international trip, courtesy of her travel agency, for the school’s top-performing student. This life-changing opportunity is intended to broaden horizons and inspire academic achievement.

“This is my little way of giving back to society, by first providing basic needs to my alma mater,” she explained, emphasizing her desire to support the education and empowerment of young girls from disadvantaged backgrounds.

During her visit, Ishola shared her personal journey, urging students to shun distractions and focus on their studies. “Obey your teachers in order to be a better version of yourselves in the future,” she advised.

Principal Mrs. Ola Modupe expressed deep gratitude for Ishola’s contribution and encouraged other alumni to follow her example.

Further demonstrating her dedication, Ishola pledged to sponsor the head girl, Miss Precious, who aspires to become a programmer. “I’m ready to sponsor her learn programming because of her love for engineering. I also studied engineering, and I would love to see her achieve her dream,” Ishola stated.

The students were visibly thrilled by Ishola’s visit, and she reassured them that her support would be ongoing.

Through her non-governmental organisation, GO Foundation, Ishola has been empowering indigent people particularly with scholarships and entrepreneurship skills. Also, Gonow Travels and Tours, recently bagged the Classic African Merit Award (CAMA) for Best Traveling Agency.
