A philanthropist and Chairman and CEO of Bullion Go-Neat Global Limited, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has called on religious adherents across Nigeria to recognise that they worship the same God and should therefore coexist peacefully.

Speaking to journalists during the 3rd Annual Ramadan Lecture he hosted in Ibafo, Ogun State, Ajadi urged politicians and leaders to refrain from using religion to incite division.

He emphasised that both Christians and Muslims, along with followers of other faiths, share a common Creator of heaven and earth.

The lecture, themed: “Submit Yourself to Whom God Has Shown Mercy,” was delivered by Fodhilat Sheikh Abdul Basit Olanrewaju Katibi Bello, also known as Aponle Anobi.

The event attracted a large audience, including notable figures such as Mrs. Oyindamola Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, Kilamuwaye Badmus, Olowu Kehinde, Alhaji Saoty Arewa, Alhaja Azeezat Otibiya Reign, Tope Indomie, and MC Baba Labule.

Ajadi remarked, “With Ramadan and Lent occurring simultaneously, we must practice tolerance in our respective faiths. Personally, I embody both beliefs, I come from a Christian background on my father’s side and a Muslim one on my mother’s side. I grew up attending the mosque, where I realised we all call upon the same God.”

He continued, “I celebrate with my Muslim family while actively participating in my Christian community. There is no reason for conflict between these two religions. Today, Muslims and Christians gather together to worship the same God, and that is the path forward.”

Ajadi urged the public to recognise the divine they serve, warning that a lack of understanding can lead to misguidance.

“Know who you are and the God you worship. To our politicians and leaders, please stop using religion to divide Nigerians for selfish gains. We are one nation, and with peace, God will restore Nigeria’s lost glory.”

In his lecture, Sheikh Abdul Basit Olanrewaju Katibi Bello emphasised the importance of submitting to God’s will.
