The Head of Key Account and Management of Credit Direct, Joseph Osodi, has explained why they are partnering with Migo Mobile Nigeria to make phones, laptops, tablets, and other gadgets affordable to common Nigerians.

Osodi recently made this known in Lagos during the unveiling of Migo Mobile’s new lines of phones, laptops, tablets, and other gadgets.

Osodi noted that the mission of Credit Direct is not only to create solutions that give people peace of mind when it comes to money lending to solve their personal and business needs but also to assist them with funds to purchase any phone or gadget of their choice.

“These days, most people are thinking of how to eat. Hardly any common man is thinking of how to buy a smartphone or laptop, even when they need them.

“Migo Mobile Nigeria is an exceptional brand, and this partnership can benefit both sides. Their products are affordable and we try to make it more convenient and easy for many people to afford them,” he said.

He revealed that, with their partnership with Migo Mobile Nigeria, they have realised that over the past two years, the average Nigerian has lost their disposable income, which could be attributed to an increase in inflation and foreign exchange rates.

“Basically, most Nigerians are battling survival. So, what we are saying is that Nigerians could enjoy the good life they previously enjoyed without breaking the bank. They could enjoy all the luxury they enjoyed before now at a fractional cost,” he said.
Osodi said that Nigeria mostly operates a cash economy against a credit or a credit-based economy where people can buy things, make a down payment for them and spread the payment for as long as ten years.

In light of this, he further said that with their partnership with Migo Mobile Nigeria, they are starting with a six-month repayment plan with an interest rate of 7.5 per cent. He added that with time, the repayment plan could be extended to twelve months.

According to him, both salary and non-salary earners who have businesses are eligible for their services when it comes to purchasing Migo products or any other product or service of their choice.

He revealed that foreign exchange does not affect their loans, adding, “If you go into a contract with us today, say to buy a Migo smartphone, and the dollar rate goes up tomorrow, we will not re-price the loan for you, which mean that the amount you borrowed and its interest, remain the same throughout the lifetime of the loan.”
