The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, has scheduled a general stakeholders’ meeting for Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

According to an invitation letter issued by RSIEC, the meeting will take place at the RSIEC Headquarters in Port Harcourt at 2:00 PM.

Those invited include leaders of all registered political parties, traditional rulers, security agencies, religious organizations, media representatives, professional bodies, civil society groups, non-governmental organizations, NGOs, community-based groups, and the electorate.


The highlight of the meeting will be the official unveiling of the timetable and guidelines for the 2025 Local Government Elections in Rivers State.

The statement, signed on Tuesday by the Chairman of RSIEC, Retired Justice Adolphus Enebeli, urged all invitees to be seated at the RSIEC Auditorium by 2:00 PM tomorrow.

DAILY POST recalls that the Supreme Court on Friday sacked the 23 LGA chairmen, citing a violation of Section 150 of the Electoral Act.

The apex court declared the October 5, 2024, elections that ushered in the new chairmen as void.
