Purple House wins Fresh Greenwich Schools’ biennial inter-house competition
Purple House has won the First Greenwich Schools sixth biennial inter-house sports competition, which held at Air Force Base, Shasha, Lagos. The competition featured Blue, Orange, Purple and Lemon Green houses.
At the end of the competition hosted by Dr. Kunle and Mrs. Folashade Ogunkolati, Purple House dominated the competition, which featured contests in taekwondo, boys and girls’ 15, 25 and 50 metres tiny tots’ races, 75, 100 and 200 metres races, relay races, fill in the bottle, lime and spoon race and sack race, among others.
Commenting on the competition, the proprietress of the school, Mrs. Ogunkolati described the 2025 edition as the best-ever with the introduction of taekwondo, which, according to her, was co-opted into the event to equip the children with self-defence skills.
“The biennial inter-house sports started about 12 years ago as an important aspect of the school’s curriculum to build the pupils’ career, having realised that extracurricular activities would help them to develop skills like discipline, focus, dedication, hard work, commitment and teamwork.
