Bayer Leverkusen forward Nathan Tella has resumed training with the reigning German champions as he works towards full fitness ahead of their Bundesliga fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

Tella suffered a hip injury in Leverkusen’s goalless draw against Bayern Munich last two weeks when he played 85 minutes of the keen contest.

The knock ruled him out of their 2-0 victory over Holstein Kiel in the DFB-Pokal last week but he has now returned to the team training according to BILD.

According to BILD via Ligainsider.de, Tella rejoined team training on Tuesday but did not complete the full session.

Instead, he worked individually towards the end of the exercises as he continued his recovery.

It remains uncertain whether the Nigerian midfielder will be fit enough to make the squad for Leverkusen’s upcoming match against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday evening.

Tella’s return would be a major boost for manager Xabi Alonso, who has relied on him for some part of the campaign.

The 25-year-old has featured in 18 Bundesliga games and 30 matches across all competitions, contributing three goals and three assists.

As he regains full fitness, Tella will also be hoping to impress and earn a place in the Super Eagles squad for Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
