Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North in the Senate, has lambasted the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for focusing on self-perpetuation in power, which he said has deprived Delta of real political competition.

Nwoko made this statement over the weekend in Idumuje Ugboko, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state, following his recent defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC. He accused PDP leaders of prioritising their personal interests and power retention over the well-being of the people.

While declaring that PDP’s 25-year reign in Delta State will come to an end in the 2027 general elections, he expressed excitement about being in the ruling party, just as he criticised PDP for holding Delta “hostage” for a quarter of a century.
