50-year-old farmer shot dead in Ogun
A 50-year-old farmer, identified as Alfa Mustapha, has been shot dead on his farmland located at Ageri Village, via Olodo, in the Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Mustapha’s lifeless body was found face-up with his cutlass beside him.
DAILY POST reports that the deceased had gone to his farm on Saturday morning but failed to return home.Concerned about his whereabouts, the Chief Imam of Ageri Mosque, Moshood Mustapha, proceeded to the farm at about 6:02 p.m., where he found the deceased lying dead.
The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirming the incident to DAILY POST on Sunday, said the Imam had reported the incident to the Police Outstation in Olodo at about 6:30 p.m.
Odutola said, “The case was reported to the Police Outstation in Olodo at about 1830 hours on February 22, 2025, by the Chief Imam of Ageri Mosque, Moshood Mustapha, who stated that the deceased had gone to his farm in the morning but failed to return home.
“Concerned about his whereabouts, the Imam proceeded to the farm at about 1802 hours, where he found the deceased lying face-up with his cutlass beside him.”
Odutola noted that upon receiving the report, police officers from the outstation visited the scene, took photographs, and deposited the corpse at the General Hospital, Odeda, for medical examination.
