Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi is marking her birthday today, February 22nd, with deep gratitude, reflecting on the challenges she overcame in the past year.

In an Instagram post, Adesua revealed that 2024 tested her resilience, making her appreciate the gift of life even more.

She disclosed that she battled hyperemesis for months, leading to hospitalization, all while supporting her husband, singer and politician Banky W, through another surgery for a cancerous tumor.

The actress further shared that she underwent an emergency C-section and endured a difficult healing process, which she described as harrowing. Expressing appreciation to the medical teams in Lagos and Washington, DC, who cared for her, she also thanked her husband for his unwavering support.

“2024 really tried to take the wind out of my sail, so I am so grateful to be here celebrating my life and God’s faithfulness,” she wrote. “To find out the love of my life needed another surgery while I was sick and pregnant, then end up with an emergency C-section…it was a lot.”

Despite the hardships, Adesua remains optimistic and determined. She declared that she is stepping into a new season of reclaiming everything that belongs to her.
