The Nigeria Customs Service Port Terminal Multiservices Limited Command said it is determined to achieve one-hour clearance of roll-on-roll-off cargo to beat its existing two-hour record.

The Customs Area Controller of the PTML, Tenny Daniyan, stated this on Tuesday, during the command’s celebration of the International Customs Day in Lagos.

Roll-on-roll-off cargoes are wheeled cargoes, like cars, motorcycles, and trucks, among others, wbich are driven on and off the ships on their own.

Speaking further, Daniyan stated that to achieve the target, all that is needed is for importers and their agents to be compliant.

According to him, with compliance in the form of sincere declaration, prompt payment of duty, and readiness for exit, “the command is capable of clearing automobile cargoes within one hour.”

He mentioned that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control has approved the PTML Terminal for the importation of pharmaceuticals.

Daniyan said the adequate security and transparent mode of operation at the command made this possible.
