Tragedy struck in Anambra State as a man, identified as Christian Ndubuisi, allegedly stabbed his elder brother to death during a heated altercation.

The Anambra State Police Command has since arrested Ndubuisi and detained him as investigations into the incident continue.


Confirming the development on Sunday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that police operatives from the 3-3 Division responded swiftly to a report of the attack on February 15.

“Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect, in the course of a fight with his elder brother, broke a bottle and stabbed him,” Ikenga disclosed.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries, with the attending doctor pronouncing him dead.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Ikioye Orutugu, has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Awka for further inquiries.


The incident has sparked concern among residents, with authorities urging the public to resolve conflicts through peaceful means rather than violence.
