Renowned Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has revealed how a recent emergency surgery affected her confidence.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the award-winning actress reflected on her journey, sharing how the gallbladder removal surgery she underwent in late 2024 left her with scars.

Omotola, who previously opened up about battling a life-threatening illness in November 2024, posted a video in which she candidly discussed her self-consciousness about the changes to her body.

“Late last 2024, I had emergency surgery. My tummy is one of the best parts of my body, but it is not so perfect now,” she shared.

She recalled a moment during a photoshoot when she instinctively grabbed her top but hesitated upon realizing the change in her appearance. However, she quickly reminded herself that her confidence remained unshaken.

“I heard a little voice saying, ‘There is nothing to show anymore.’ Not me! What will shake my confidence has not been created. I smiled and danced. I’m alive, it’s just scars. Some people’s scars are physical, while some are emotional,” she stated.
