The family of a boardroom guru and renowned accountant, Justin Emanuel, has announced the commencement of his funeral rites set to take place in Lagos.

According to a statement signed by his wife, Mrs Anana Emanuel, activities celebrating the life and times of Justin would kick off on Tuesday, February 18, with a night of tributes at Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

This will be followed by a Christian wake and service of songs on Thursday, February 20, at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The final leg of the week-long celebration will be the funeral service on Friday, February 21, at Holy Cross Cathedral, Catholic Mission Street, Lagos Island, while a private interment and reception will follow immediately after the service.

Born on April 20, 1935, into the family of Pa Lydio Durojaiye Emanuel, a pioneering pharmacist of Brazilian Quarters, Lagos Island, and Alhaja Nusirat Amope Shonibare, the daughter of a Muslim cleric, Emanuel distinguished himself early in life.

As a seasoned administrator with vast experience, he served as the Chairman of the Board of many local and international corporate organisations, including BoriniProno & Co. Limited, Trevi Foundations of Nigeria Limited, Foundation Construction Limited, Saipem (Nigeria) Limited, Hogg Robinson Nigeria Limited, and Grand Cereals Limited.

He also served as a board member of, Nigerian Life & Provident Company Limited, Sterling Assurance Company Limited, and Macmillan Nigeria Publishers Limited – Publishers of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Books and Publications in Africa – amongst others.
