Senior Social Assistant on Media to the senator representing Anambra Central senatorial district, Senator Victor Umeh, Charles Obi has tied the knot with his longtime lover, Ijeoma.

The wedding ceremony which was held on Monday was attended by notable guests and dignitaries from far and wide, including the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The union between Charles and Ijeoma took place at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Amawbia, and was officiated by the Catholic Archbishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye, in the presence of friends, family members, colleagues, and other well-wishers

In his homily, Most Rev. Okoye advised the couple to avoid third-party interference in their marriage and to remain united in love and understanding.

Speaking at the reception, held at Trig-Point Hotel, Nibo, in Awka South Local Government Area of the state, Senator Umeh said he was excited to be part of the ceremony as a way of supporting his aide in building a stable home.

This, he said would enable his aide to focus better on his professional duties.

He highlighted the importance of a stable home, saying that a stable home enables families to contribute their quota to building the society and the country at large.

He said, “We appreciate the families of the couple for their consent and we encourage the newlyweds to make mutual understanding their guiding principle and to ensure they cling to the love that binds them together.

“A stable home is very key to productivity, well-being and for strengthening societal peace. We wish the newlyweds a strong bond of unity and to imbibe mutual understanding as their guiding principle as they embark on the marital journey.”
